Diesel Fuel Pumps

A diesel fuel pump moves fuel from the tank to the engine, and a high pressure fuel pump raises that fuel to the pressure the injectors need. Diesel Fuel Parts supplies diesel fuel pumps and high pressure fuel pumps for popular diesel engines, so you can replace the part online.

Signs your diesel fuel pump may be failing

• Hard starting or long cranking
• Loss of power or surging under load
• Rough running or stalling
• A noticeable drop in fuel economy

These symptoms can also come from other parts of the fuel system, so have a diesel specialist test the pump before you replace it.

How to choose the right diesel fuel pump

Fuel pumps are matched to the engine, not just the vehicle model. Check your engine code (for example 1KD or 2KD), which is usually on the engine plate or in your vehicle's documentation, and make sure the part matches it.

Diesel fuel pump FAQs

How do I know if my diesel fuel pump is failing?
Common signs are difficulty starting, loss of power, surging, rough running and poor fuel economy. A diesel specialist should test the pump before you replace it.

Which diesel fuel pump suits my engine?
Match the pump to your engine code, such as 1KD or 2KD, rather than only the vehicle model. If you're unsure, send us your vehicle details and ask for help confirming the correct part.

What is the difference between a fuel pump and a high pressure fuel pump?
A fuel pump moves diesel from the tank toward the engine. A high pressure fuel pump increases that pressure to the level the injectors need to spray fuel correctly.

Do you install diesel fuel pumps?
No. Diesel Fuel Parts supplies parts only and does not offer fitment. We recommend having every part installed by a qualified diesel professional so the new part is not compromised.
